Individual Counseling

Individual counseling offers a one-on-one treatment where you can discuss your thoughts, feelings, emotions, struggles, beliefs, and behaviors in a safe and confidential setting. As your Therapist I will develop a personalized treatment plan based on your needs and goals. Each session we will work together towards those goals and celebrate your successes.

Couples Counseling

Couples Counseling provides many benefits. It primarily consists of talk therapy combined with various therapy methods where couples work to identify negative patterns and develop ways to improve their relationship. It can help couples identify and resolve issues, improve communication and build trust. The beauty of couples counseling is that you don’t have to wait until you are in “crisis” to see the benefits counseling will have on your relationship. As a level one trained Gottman therapist, I primarily use the “Gottman Marriage Method”. This method involves addressing areas of conflict and equipping you and your partner with problem-solving skills. It aims to improve the quality of friendship and the level of intimacy between you and your partner.

EMDR Therapy

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a psychotherapy technique that helps people process and heal from traumatic memories. It’s often used to treat posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and other distressing events. Dr. Francine Shapiro developed EMDR after noticing that eye movements reduced her own stress.

During EMDR, you focus on a memory while simultaneously moving your eyes in a specific back and forth pattern performed by a trained EMDR Therapist. This bilateral stimulation helps you reprocess the memory and reduce its emotional intensity. EMDR helps you reframe the memory with a more positive belief.

Benefits

  • EMDR can help you feel calmer and more empowered.
  • It can help you recover from trauma and PTSD symptoms.
  • EMDR can help you process memories more quickly than other therapy methods.

Career Counseling

Career counseling can help clients find or change their career path. With over 15 years in workforce development, Career Counseling, and HR/Recruiting, I provide clients with help with their job searching, career transitions, and professional development. Part of the process for many clients is discovering their passions and purpose and setting goals and creating a plan to achieve them. Career counseling involves assessing skills and interests, setting goals, developing and understanding your strengths, values, and personality traits. In addition, I help by teaching job search skills, connecting clients with resources, and helping them practice interviewing and networking skills.

Anger Management Individual Counseling

Court-Ordered Approved

As a Certified Anger Management Specialist level II (CAMS-II), I can provide individual anger management counseling to meet Court-ordered anger management requirements. Court-ordered anger management counseling is a legal requirement that helps people learn to control their anger and respond to it in a healthy way. It’s often a resolution for legal issues involving violence or aggression. Anger control therapy helps individuals learn strategies to identify and manage their anger in a healthy way, often by understanding triggers, developing coping mechanisms, and practicing relaxation techniques to better control their emotional responses in upsetting situations.
